Box preparation:
Sand exterior of box; Basecoat entire box, including the inside with Licorice, use as many coats as needed to get total coverage sanding between coats. Transfer pattern to box (see bottom of page).

Painting Instructions:
Roses: Using a #8 Angle brush base in the roses with Violet Pansy mixed with a touch of Midnight. Once that coat is dry with Violet Pansy Loaded on the brush and Lilac Love on the tip put in the petals using wiggley C-Strokes. After that coat is dry using Floating Medium and Winter White on the tip highlight the Petals.

Hydrangas: Using a #4 Filbert brush base in the hydranga area with Midnight, doesn't have to be perfect we are trying to achieve depth and this will be covered later. After dry using the dirty filbert press and twist the hydranga petals with Vivid Violet, Light Lavendar, and Winter White.
Leaves: Using a #12 Filbert brush double Loaded with Thicket and Italian Sage, using Italian Sage on top press and twist the leaves. For the shadow leaves #4 filbert brush, load with Floating Medium and a tiny bit of Thicket put in the shadow leaves. These should be VERY light.

Top of Box:

Around the opening on the top of the box using a #4 Filbert with Lilac Love and Winter White press and twist the hydrangas. Using the same brush (clean) and Italian Sage place the leaves to the right of the flowers. Using a Stylus and Inca Gold dot in between the flowers.

Finishing:

Using a stylus and Inca Gold put dots in the centers of the hydrangas and around the sides of the box.

Pattern:

Sealing: with a foam brush apply several coats (I usually do 2) of brush on sealer (I used a satin)
